Information Technology
The course is three years full-time, Un-aided, Non-Sandwich semester Pattern having Multipoint
entry & Credit System. The emphasis of the course is on Information Technology with computer education at a Technician level covering knowledge of Software : Programming languages, System Analysis and Design, Database, Concepts of Operating Systems, Data structure communication related topics, Internet, Entrepreneurship, Hardware : Electronic Devices, Digital electronics, Robotics, Computer Peripherals at higher semester alongwith basic subjects – Mathematics, Physics, Communication Skills, Generic Skill, basis of Engineering Drawing in first and second semester. The content of syllabus is having weightage of around appex 70% to 30% as software to hardware respectively. After completion of Diploma students will be able to work as :–
- A Database Administrator
Programmer - System Network Administrator
- Web Application – Developer.
- Customer Support Services

Course Details
Use of Surveying and Levelling Instruments, Civil Engineering Drawing, Methods of Construction as applied to Buildings, Roads,Bridges, Public Health Engineering, Quantity Surveying and Estimation and Entrepreneurship.
The student is also provided with adequate background in Designing of Structures and in Project Management.Civil Engineering Technician can take up supervision of construction of all types of works,such as Surveying, Levelling and Data collection. He / She can also be useful in Materials Management,taking measurements, etc.
He / She can get employment as Overseer / Junior Engineer in Municipal Corporation, Buildings and Constructions Department, Irrigation and Power Department, State Electricity Board, Housing Board, Building Repairs and Reconstruction Board, etc. He / She can get appointment as Supervisor in Private Construction organisations. The student can also find employment in Consulting organisations for Designing work. So also, he / she can work independently as a Contractor.

SBMP CSI chapter
Computer Society of India, professional body, has grown to an enviable size of 100,000 strong members consisting of professionals with varied backgrounds including Software developers, Scientists, Academicians, Project Managers, CIO’s, CTO’s & IT vendors to just name a few. It has spread its branches all over the country. Currently having 488 student branches and rooted firmly at 73 different locations. Shri Bhagubhai Mafatlal Polytechnic, Vile Parle, IT Department, inaugurated CSI-SBMP Student branch on 5th November, 2019 .This student chapter is a great platform for our students to interact and get knowledge of emerging trends and technologies in the field of IT. Being a CSI member one can avail the opportunities like: Opportunity to participate in the international, national, regional and chapter events of CSI such as conferences, seminars, symposia, workshops, technical talks, free lectures on latest technological advancements in IT at discounted rates between 10%-50%. Chapter activities which offers a platform for networking with distinguished industry leaders, scientists, academicians.
ISTE Chapter
The Indian Society for Technical Education is a national, professional, non-profit making Society registered under the Societies Registration Act of 1860. First started in 1941 as the Association of Principals of Technical Institutions (APTI), it was converted into Indian Society for Technical Education in 1968 with a view to enlarge its activities to advance the cause of technological education in the country.
The Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) is a non-profitmaking society engaged in career development of teachers, personality development of students and overall development of technical education in our country. ISTE membership allows the teachers and students to be a part of the community that leads the transformation of education.
