The Diploma Course in Mechanical Engineering lays emphasis on manufacturing in engineering industries. Syllabus covers subjects such as Work Study, Production Management, Process Engineering, Tool Design, Mechanism, Power Engines, Refrigeration and Air-conditioning, Hydraulic Machinery, Machine Design Practice and Entrepreneurship.
This Course lays emphasis on Electricity Generation, Distribution and Utilization. It covers subjects like Electricity Fundamentals, Electrical Engineering Materials, Drawing and Estimation, Electrical Machines, Electrical Power Generation and Distribution, etc.
The emphasis in this Course is on Testing, Modification and Development of Circuits useful in Control of Power to Industrial Drives and Control of Signals in Test / Process Instrumentation and Communication.
The Plastics Engineering Diploma Course lays emphasis on Engineering aspects of Plastic Industry. It deals with various processes used in Plastic Processing Machinery, Mould Design and Fabrication and Plastic Testing with sufficient knowledge of properties of Plastic material.

Code Implementation on occasion of Engineers' day
Chintan Popat (1398028) & Neel Dedhia (1398006) students of Vth Sem IT stood third & won consolation prize in Code Implementation Competition held at Shah & Achar Kachhi Polytechnic, Chembur on 15/09/2015. Around 56 groups from different polytechnics in Mumbai region participated in the event.
State Level Technical Quiz Competition, “TECHTRIONICS-2015”,for final year students of Diploma in Electronics Engineering and allied branches was organized on Friday,28th August’2015 by Electronics Department of SBM Polytechnic. The Quiz was organized under ISTE-SBM Polytechnic chapter. It was inaugurated by Prof.V.M Joshi, Adjunct Faculty, Electronics Dept., Vivekananda Engg. College, Mumbai.The polytechnics in and around Mumbai were invited to participate in the Technical Quiz. In all sixty students from eleven polytechnics took part in the competition.
One day seminar on project was conducted by Center For Information Technology on 03/10/2015. Eighty one participants from various polytechnics in Mumbai region had registered for the program.Mr. Chetan Hingu, Country Manager, HP, India delivered a keynote address. Professionals from industry & eminent academicians also guided participants for project domain selection, Technologies, Practices followed in industry, project report writing & evaluation. The seminar was concluded with certificate distribution by our Prinipal, Mr. U. M. Kantute.
